Apologies. I have moved this to the pest forum.
Does anyone know how to cope with Brithys crini (Lily Borer, Crinum Borer)? It is is a moth of the Noctuidae. It is found in different parts of the world and is supposedly native to Queensland and the Northern Territory in Australia. But I wonder if it is actually introduced here.

The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

I have seen this type of damage on a few of mine but the culprit turned out to be common cutworms and well fed cutworms at that.

This thread was transferred to Pests and Disease forum. From which the following was taken:

Gleni said:I have solved my Brithys moth problem at last. I used Yates SUCCESS. Naturalyte Insect Control. Active constituent Spinosad. Apparently, "Spinosad has translaminar movement, which means it moves into the leaf." And Brithys's cats are usually under the epidermis having a wonderful time.
