Ahh, I understand now. Yes, that sounds like a fine idea. Definitely use pressure treated 2x4s and you should be fine. I would even use pressure treated "bits" as shims. Or you could use plastic shims like they sell for leveling toilets.
Now... the peak of the greenhouse may be only 10 feet high but when you're up there it feels like you're on the top of a pole barn. And I'll add that you'll spend a lot of quality time up on that ladder once it comes time for the windows.
And, since I'm feeling grumpy, I will warn you that the windows will test your language skills. I spent 2 hours this afternoon putting together and installing a whopping
two windows. And that was with competent helpers. Definitely the most frustrating part of this project, by far. Getting them square and fitting right in their openings challenged my patience. There was a brief moment where I thought I might actually throw one!
And installing those piece of junk automatic openers was a trial I was not expecting. I'm wondering if they'll actually work or not.
In short, my feelings about today's work are:
I feel a
tiny bit better now. Tomorrow
might be better when I do the other two windows and hopefully also the door.
