Last of my new bulbs, Party (also sold as Pajama Party) from Royal Colors. Big variation in the intensity of color of the blooms on same scape. Royal Colors removed this cultivar from their website early in the season: perhaps there was a quality issue. Both of the bulbs that I got from RC, in Sept and in early Nov were half rotten on arrival. Maybe, the poor quality of the bulbs had an effect on the flowers. I discarded both bulbs after they bloomed.

That is a beautiful bloom, too bad you had to get rid of them. Did you get a refund on them?

Margaret, that's a nice white seedling.
How did you come to be the proud owner of #9537?
And, do you call it something just for fun or stick with the number?

Dirt, I bought it along with Red Lion because they were on sale for 1/2 price at the local pharmacy after Christmas, the white had a tag with 9537, no name, it was in bad shape and I nursed it back to health. They were my first Amaryllis and of course I was hooked. Hilarious! So you think I should name her?? Green Grin!

Margaret,I do not believe you should name this plant as that can lead to a lot of confusion later. The hybridizer gave it a reference number and it should be left at that. Now,that said,we do need a system for naming our personal hybrids that have multiplied to the point we can spread them around. It is sad that no such system exists except for the impossible foreign registry system now in place.I still have hope for a north/south American registry.

Yikes! I never meant to suggest naming the plant!
I was referring to the idea of a nickname because I don't tend to think of my babies as numbers--I was just curious if she had a nickname for it or not.

JT, is anyone working on getting a "north/south American registry." set up at this time?????
