Oh my goodness, what a sweet plant. How tall does it get? Just wondering how it would do in my sempervivum raised beds.

How has Stachys lavandulifolia done for you, dirtdorphins, in terms of spreading? I found it to be a little too loosely spreading for my likes - I might have forgiven this if it had been a flower machine, but blooming was a bit sparse too (though gorgeous furry blooms, no question!)

Well, I just planted it last year, so it may be too soon to tell--

(it is really dark and gloomy out there today--been raining all week--but here is a not-so-great pic just snapped)
I've got it down on the street-corner edge, in a rockpile by the firehydrant, where it can duke it out with the horehound, just in case. So far, it has tripled in size from the little plug I planted. It hasn't produced any runners and popped up elsewhere, and hasn't melted down in all the rain, but it looks like the horehound is winning the spreading competition...

Nice!

Mine shot up quite a bit after last night's rain.

Heh-heh... *Blush* My single sprout of what was supposed to be Nama rothrockii is looking suspiciously like a plain old clover these days! Rolling on the floor laughing I guess I'll have to try again for that one.

This is a very informative thread for starting alpines.
I shall make use of it as I get more seeds.
