I try to grow them ever year. Some years I don't have them and then I really miss them. They are my favorite annuals.

In our hot humid summers zinnias can get pretty ugly with powdery mildew. I've never had that problem with the narrow leaf zinnias though, and I've stuck with those in the last few years. I don't use chemicals in my yard, want to keep it safe for the birds and bees.

Zinnias just plain rock! Obviously the previous owner of our new house had zinnias at some time of other & they volunteered so this summer I had quite a few zinnias growing here & there & over there. Hilarious! It was wonderful as we had been too busy trying to get settled to do much of anything about planting flowers. The zinnias take this gosh awful heat down here along with the relentless 12 hour sun, no rain & no supplemental watering like it was a walk in the park!

I Lovey dubby Lovey dubby Lovey dubby Lovey dubby zinnias!

I picked up a couple packs of zinnia seeds as well as harvesting from the volunteers here & very soon now I will be playing Annie Zinniaseed. Rolling on the floor laughing

I always tell people to plant zinnias. They can fill in between perennials or just be off by themselves. So much color for so little effort.

Love all those great pictures. I also use the narowleaf and Zahara.By the time I think of buying seeds they are usually sold out. The zinnias replace the violas for spots of color
