Create Fun Winter Photos with Container Plants Brought in for the Winter

By DavidofDeLand
February 8, 2014

Bringing in all those prized plants we have sure is a chore in winter. Here in Florida, they're in one week and out the next; all to be done over again the following week, it seems, this time of year. Dragging things in for the freezes creates Miniature Garden photo opportunities. Plants can look great with the addition of a couple of items from the glass case inside. Using those things and touching them once in a while brings them back to life!

What a fun thing to do! I don't grow any plants in pots that I'd have to bring inside, but this has me thinking that maybe I should do that this year!

Been collecting plants to put into containers...now I think I should be collecting colorful, fun objects to be putting into the containers.
Again, you have given us much by sharing your creativity with us, David. Big Grin

@DavidofDeLand You are so creative. Your containers are certainly conversation pieces! It's a good day for DeLand even though it's raining outside. My banner and your interesting article.

Creating a miniature garden is a lot of fun. I did a Japanese miniature garden a few years ago and every year I add some new annuals with the little hardy trees. It stays outside for the winter, so most of the plant material dies out. Adding the figurines/characters to create a scene is fun.

@DavidofDeLand Did your Uncle Paul create Porthos and Aramis too, or just Athos?
