Anyone have another source to buy this clem. Omoshiro? Brushwood is out and sounds like he is not sure when he will have it in stock again. I found one at Klettm's Song Sparrow nursery for 18.95 but, have never ordered from them. Anyone order here? DG watch dog says a few negatives but that was 2007.
I have wanted this one for years hoping it would pop up at one of the local places but no luck.
Thanks for any help
Julia

Klehm's sells very good plants. A friend bought a few from them and was very happy with them.

Julia - I too have bought clematis from Klehms and was thrilled. I would jump on it before it is sold out!

Leap at the chance next time they're available. Put your name on waiting lists. Did you check for it at Garden Crossings?

I just checked and they don't have it! Rats!

I haven't ordered from Brushwood in quite some time, but they used to have it set up for notifications when they had a plant back in stock.

You're so right, Julia. It's the "always have regrets" that's the killer.

I contacted Silverstar about omoshiro. She says Morning Star is what she grows instead and feels it is better.
Any of you have Morning Star?

I think it looks very different?

It's difficult for me to be objective since Omoshiro is my favorite clematis. Here's a collage so you can study them and see which one you like best.

I'd miss the vibrancy of the color Omoshiro has as opposed to the bland look of Morning Star (photo by Klehm's) but maybe we just need a more lively shot of Morning Star.

Julia expressed the same thought I have by saying "Always have regrets".

In the end the choice is yours and I wish you luck. I do hate waiting but I'd hate myself more for settling for something I didn't set out to buy. I do have three Omoshiro clem's now. I have to move one and I am considering pairing Omoshiro with Dr. Ruppel but I don't have to decide...yet...while the snow is still covering everything.

Don't disturb the planting site of the (maybe) late Omoshiro. Many of us have had them return when we thought they were dead and gone.

Being in zone 9 you'd spot new growth before my zone 7 ever would. I've never kept records on when they emerge since a very cold spring is not good for clematises but in a warm spring they almost leap out of the good earth.

Maybe it would help if we could all say a prayer to St. Josephine and Omoshiro would pop up to make you smile.

Thanks. I'm still working on placement for many that should be moved.

How are all those dirty dolphins doing? It still amuses me how I misread your name.
