Thanks Bev! I took advantage of the all season weather here in Cali..we had such a small window of planting time and even more limited window space when we lived in Winnipeg before .

My love for that plant with cardboard-like leaves rekindled, so searching for the name...found it: Zamia furfuracea, very drought tolerant, easy to grow, minimal care, slow grower

Tarev you have really given great ideas for limited outdoor plant space. You are such a creative and imaginative person.

Woohoo! Found the cardboard palm in our local Home Depot, and it went home with me!
Time to get busy and repot!
