That is beautiful Holly. The pot is just as pretty as the plants.

I use to have trouble keeping succulents over the winter. I just do not give them much water over the winter. I may give them a sip just enough to dampen the top of the soil once a month. They are in a cool room tough so I think they go semi-dormant. It would be horrible to lose that combo it is so pretty.

Seems to work really good for me since I do not like to water plants indoors anyway. Plus as you know we do not get many sunny days in the winter in Pa so sun is not what my sucs get over the winter and they do great. Didn't you say you have a spare room that you keep some plants? Maybe try it in that room so they do not get so much humidity.

I think I may not give mine enough water, they usually get pushed up stairs into the room of doom. Where many plants go and only a few return. Many of the plants go into the GH and the over flow go into the house where I have very large windows and great light. But then the Holidays come and that can easily get carried upstairs goes into a room with good light but not much space where they are over crowded and prone to spidermites and mealy bug. Maybe 80% of the plants that go in there come out in the spring. Anything that can go dormant goes up there but the many trips up and down the steps are getting to me.
Life is Great! Holly

I went to the nursery today because they had pansy plants for 99 cents. I took a picture of this thinking of all of you.

I like the cane-like plant; a dracaena, a yucca or a cordyline?

Wouldn't it be funny if Kevin gave away Old Warty offsets to all attendees at next year's Semposium? I would go for the coffee and Old Warty offspring at Kevin's... Whistling

Julia those are neat containers. It is fun going to the nursery and seeing what they are doing. It is like going on a little plant vacation.

I go to youtube and watch some of their succulent container designs and they also suggested using houseplants with succulents.

I should go visit my local nursery and see what they are doing. Although they do not usually do many pots except summer pots. They do usually have some hardy suc plant combos this time of year.

Pretty Julia, and yes I wonder what that plant is...it does look odd! Cinta, I wonder if the nurseries expect the pots to live, I mean sometimes mixing plants with such different needs is a temporary beauty spot!!
