I think the fruit will be sweeter the more leaves you can leave on it, Anne. How about just covering it on cold nights with a cardboard box outdoors for a little while longer, and uncover it when it's warm and sunny? Or if you must move it in, just cut off the pointy ends of the leaves?
Fruit is sizing up and making sugar now, it looks like maybe another month or less before you can harvest it. Be sure to keep it protected from critters, too! Raccoons LOVE pineapples. Ask me how I know . . .
