I especially like all of your seedlings Michele. With so many beautiful ones, I can't even pick a favorite. May I ask what kind of camera you have that can take a 13 MB picture? I am saving money for a new one and your pictures are always so nice looking. Probably can't afford one with that much MB, but I don't even know what's out there anymore. Both of mine are over 6 years old and are only 3 MB.

I have a Canon EOS Rebel T3i http://www.qvc.com/Canon-EOS-R...

It is 18 MP and I had no idea it saved photos so large, but you can set it to smaller sizes. It did cost a good bit but I wanted a good camera that captured colors pretty accurately. I got it from QVC and they had a special and "easy pay" so it made it easier to pay in smaller amounts instead of one big chunk.

If I took more time to take the photos they would look even better but I am always rushing when I take photos because I have to go pollinate and get orders ready to ship and many other garden duties.

Indeed. And, I'm glad to see the pictures. We didn't go to Art Gallery this year. Instead, we went to Ladybug, which was in the other direction from where we were after lunch.

Thanks for the info, Michele. I kind of thought it might be an SLR. I am thinking seriously of going that route when I buy one. I definitely want one that captures the true color.

Excited to know there are more pictures from the daylily mecca coming. Looking forward to seeing them!

They are working with Jamie Gossard now. I'm not entirely sure of the arrangement but I've seen Jamie post about driving seedlings down and he gave a presentation about upcoming Spacecoast releases.

Wonderful pictorial Mecca tours, Michele and John -- and Pat too! And need I say that I adore the look of that toothy/tentacled wonder with the triangular looking eye , and also those gorgeous patterns, at Ladybug? It looks like you-all covered just about all of those wonderful Florida hybridizers at this year's Mecca! Fantastic, and thanks so much for the tours!

Michele, that seedling you got for Kim looks a lot like that dip that is pictured on Nicole's Facebook page that you can access through her website. I've been eyeballing that one ever since she posted it, and I believe the picture is of one of her fall 2013 intros. Very nice!

Now if only there could be someone covering the Northern Mecca for us... what a treat that woud be!

Thanks again, guys, for a job well done!

Oh what a lovely trip that was! Love the pants on the tree Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing !

The orchids (I think?) in the pots on the pallets is a beautiful focal point.

I too, noticed that they all had raised beds or the daylilies were in pots. Had no idea that so many had their daylilies on top of the ground. Are they easier to tend this way so one doesn't have to bend over so far, or is there another reason?

Thanks, Michele!!

Yep, what JWWC said. John Sr is not in good health and has moved in with John Jr. John Jr was at the garden pollinating so he's trying to keep it up although he may have to have hip surgery ( already had one on other hip). Jamie Gossard has stepped in to help out but I don't know the arrangements they have. I know that if you pay with a check you write it out to Heavenly Gardens (Gossard's garden) and if you go to the order page on the Kinnebrew website it will take you to Gossard's website and contact info to order.

Kinnebrew said that we were the first visitors they had (we went on Sunday) and that may be due to the fact that the contact info and address is no longer on the site because it goes to Gossard's

I've wondered about that referral to another website, and wondered how Mr. Gossard could handle the processing of orders from another state.

Gossard travels back and forth to do stuff at Kinnebrew's. He is actually there this week or it may be next week getting orders shipped out.

That must waste a lot of time that could be more profitably spent... in any case it doesn't seem very efficient.

Don't get me wrong - I love Spacecoast daylilies, and have a bunch of them in my garden.
That being said, the Kinnebrew daylilies are in Florida, and I don't see how the garden can be serviced from Ohio....

Daylilies are often billed as being "care-free;" maybe this proves it. Shrug!
