Are those pink flowers showy evening primrose?

Pink Evening Primrose (Oenothera speciosa)

We always called them Mexican primrose, but its the same plant.

Oh I'm so jealous! Do you ever collect the seed?

Never have, but I can try to get some for you. I didn't plant it either, it just grows wild here. I do know if you want a lot that wildseedfarm.com sells it under the individual species showy primrose.

Thanks, I will get it from Wildseed then. I appreciate the offer but it would be a bit of a pita for you to try to collect them.

Yes, it is Tee. 6 acres (80 pecan trees) with loads of dandelions & I forget at the moment what the lavender flowers are ~~~~ rattlesnake plant??? ~~ it has roots that look like heavily segmented grubs & the roots are edible. I have some phlox I keep meaning to get photos of that the county seeded the easements years ago & the phlox have volunteered onto the property.

Phlox are one of my favorites.

I like eating the roots, tast like mild radish.

Right Jay! You were the one who ID'd it for me when I first posted it. They are literally everywhere here. There are caladiums around the base of that Sycamore tree pictured but the Stachys will soon go dormant & the caladiums will be fully up & pretty.

Tee, I absolutely adore phlox too!

We will not mow until we absolutely have to which will serve the purpose also of spreading the seed around further.

The Coastal Banksia are flowering. One of my favourite trees. They can be huge. These are not that big and are on the mainland.

I love those leaves. Green upper & silvery below.
