Hi everyone!

I am pretty new at growing peonies. I have a late variety and was wondering...... when should I see growth starting? I am in zone 6.

Thanks!

A lot depends on how cold your spring is. I'm in zone 5 and most of my early and mid bloomers are up, have moved the mulch away from most everything and can see swelling pips on the later ones. Are you anywhere near U of M? They have a big peony garden and they post pics on their website, you can probably get local info from them on when you should see growth.

Thanks Liz. I am not far from U of M and this year I plan on visiting the peony gardens. I will check with them and the website for pictures as well!

I've planned a girl's trip this spring in MI just to go there myself! My husband's family is from the area, plan to spend a week at Lake Orion with my mother, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, 2 sisters, 2 nieces and my daughter. I'm dragging every one of them to U of M to see the peonies with me!
