Got pictures to share!!!

Someone mentioned that they wondered how Dragon's Flight would look in bloom -- here she is!!
Thumb of 2014-05-03/Muddymitts/265270 Thumb of 2014-05-03/Muddymitts/576c00 See those cute little horns? Green Grin!

Here is a clump shot of Tom's purple seedling:
Thumb of 2014-05-03/Muddymitts/f7b639 Is that not beautiful?

And here is a bud shot of Tom's NOID red -- they are just amazing this year, and I can't wait to see them bloom!!

OK -- I took a bunch of pictures of Daughter of Stars. I got this Iris in 2012 -- it bloomed last year, and it was nice, but nothing spectacular. This year it is a totally different Iris. First of all, the blooms are huge -- they must be 6" across. Second, the color is deep and rich and wonderful. Third -- I love the striations on the fall petals. So I'm gonna post several pictures. Green Grin!

Pwinget -- Dragon's Flight is crowding it's neighbor, and I have to remove a rhizome or two this year. I'd be happy to send them to you if there's no hassle mailing something to BC.........??

Thanks everyone. It's such a relief to see some of them blooming -- even though I'm still finding evidence of rot here and there.

Greg -- you are so right about DofS needing to get established. I think that's probably true for many of them -- we shouldn't judge them the first year, but give them a year or two to show us what they're about!!

And yes -- taffeta is a fabric like silk -- but is sort of stiff, not drapey. It was used a lot in days gone by for dressy dresses because it wanted to flare out and a net slip underneath would support the fabric and make it do just that. Boy -- there's a trip down Memory Lane. Whistling

Young Frankenstein. Saying goodbye at the train station:

[Dr. Frankenstein leans in for a kiss]
Elizabeth: Taffeta, darling.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Taffeta, sweetheart.
Elizabeth: [pulling away] No, the dress is taffeta. It wrinkles so easily.

(I can quote entire chunks of that movie. Hilarious! )

That is so nice! Thank you. I don't know if that's possible. It requires investigation. I'll tree mail you later about it.
I have checked iris sources here for Dragon's Flight - not available - as are many I see photographed on this forum :/

I believe I was the one who wanted to see the Dragon in full bloom. And I love it. Daughter of Stars is pretty too. Like you, I like the striations on the falls.
