I agree and Divine Comedy is just gorgeous!

I had a rather giddy morning; after not venturing out nor expecting any blooms today my hubby said I should check the deep-shade garden. I took a look and immediately felt a little light-headed a got quite goofy-grinned. I dashed right back into the house for my camera! Lovey dubby

Dizzy Miss Lizzy graced our garden with a visit today.

I love the curly petals and sepals on Dizzy Miss Lizzy! "Divine Comedy" is a pretty color, but it never looked that pink here. It was a burgundy, if I recall. I love seeing these early blooms. I don't even have any scapes here - much less blooms. I usually have lots of scapes by now. It may be the middle of June before daylilies start blooming here.

Strange you should say "vibrant colors". to me this bloom looked rather washed out, but my camera insisted it was "vibrant", took six or eight pics just trying to tone it down to look more like the actual color.

Ah! I have the same camera-with-its-own-mind problem. Though I can't even see the colors in Crystal Blue Persuasion the camera absolutely sees nothing But colors in it!! Rolling on the floor laughing There must be some color chemicals (or something!) that may be creating the optical illusion. Rolling my eyes.

These are yesterdays as I didn't have time to post them until now.
Siloam Double Classic FFO. New in this garden fall 2013. Looking a bit wonky but it's an FFO. This is one of my all time favorite dl's.

Thumb of 2014-05-06/flaflwrgrl/eb864a

FFO on a third Better By Design. I think the rain finally got to this one while it was in bud. Not too bad though for 4 days & nights of rain.

NOID that came with the place. I adore this one! The brown stamens contrast so nicely against the yellow. I've dubbed this Lemon & Chocolate. FFO

This is an FFO on NOID prolif I planted last fall. I do not like this bloom up close but it's amazing how they really make a statement at a distance! From afar, it's a beauty.

Thumb of 2014-05-06/flaflwrgrl/118df0

Another NOID that came with the place. Very pretty but the sun quickly washes out the color.

Ann, the 'lemon and chocolate' has a grace.

nodding I want your yellow NOID, Ann! It is the shade of yellow I yearn for and have yet to find. Lovey dubby I also really like your lavender eyed NOID, and I agree it is fascinating how distance changes the look of daylily blooms - some better up close, some more lovely from afar.

I thought I had an earlier post but don't see it now -- I really love that DIZZY MISS LIZZY, and the others are great too.

Well, what a magical set! Betty.

That is a decent edge on Linda Bell.

Tina, it actually opened yesterday, and I just couldn't believe how perfect it was -- and it seems like every bloom is a little different and really awesome. And MDR seems to love our climate too!

I'm trying, I'm trying...

I went over to my sis's yesterday and didn't get back until mid-afternoon today, and unfortunately I missed some great pollinating opportunities. But it wasn't very hot today so I did collect some pollen when I got back and took a few pictures. But I'm going to have to get out there bright and early tomorrow to try and catch up! I missed a whole bunch of pic's today too -- the blooms were just too far gone by the time I got out there. But I know there are other buds just awaitin'... Hurray!
