Well worth the effort, and easier than one might think.

Amazing what grows as a native in PNW. Could never even consider those where I live! I do love my natives though...

I have no luck with my local natives although a multiflora rose popped up last year. I get some occasional volunteer daisy varieties that I mow around.

Still seeking the elusive Wood Lily , one I would very much like to incorporate.
( L. philadelphicum var. philadelphicum or L. philadelphicum var. andidum )

They're here, I've simply never encountered either one.

I have a fair number of natives in my garden, some of which are super butterfly magnets.

I also grow Downy Skullcap, Goldenrod, Dame's Rocket, wild blue phlox, wild violets, dandelions (not intentionally). Jack in the Pulpit, Ostrich Ferns (not sure they're native), Soloman's Seal, and largest of all, Paw Paw Trees.
Nothing that's been done can ever be changed.

Thanks for this, Deb. My natives reward me with ease of care, hardiness, much color, lots of butterflies, bees and birds on a regular basis and more seeds to plant and to share. I beat the "natives drum" whenever I have the chance (and sometimes when I don't). Thumbs up

Thanks so much for this article Bonehead. I love the color they provide, the food for the birds in winter, also their hardiness.
Any day you wake up on the sunny side of the grass is a good day.

Thanks to everyone for the nuts and thumbs. I'm happily seeing more nurseries adding in a specific native section, and I now have more than a few all-native nurseries in my vicinity. I hope the trend grows and folks embrace it more.
