Just wondering if anyone in MN is planning to go to the Friend's School Plant Sale at the MN State Fairgrounds this weekend (May 9-11)? I've been going for the past 7 years and it's the best plant sale ever!

@dmurray407 I want to go some year Deb. What did you pick up there? How are things in your buffalo garden? I am going to plant mine up at the cabin this weekend

@Anderwood I love that sale-you really should try to go sometime. The variety of plants is amazing and the prices are very reasonable. I bought some hostas and a few other perennials. I usually mostly buy hummingbird plants for my deck because they have some nice varieties that I can't get anywhere else. (salvias, fucshias, agastaches). The plants are great and the people watching and total experience are priceless:)

Henry always sources great stuff for that sale. Next year he will probably be selling Styrax americanus grown from seed from my shrub. I always want to go to the sale, but seldom get to it. This year, one that perked up my ears is Hosta 'Allegan Frost". I'm not a hostaphile, but it's been on my watch list for 10+ years. (Don't believe the hype that it is a new introduction, but it should be a different one.)

Nope no Allegan Frost. I didn't really start off with any hostas on my list (and I always try to stick to the list or I end up spending way too much). I decided to walk quickly through the hosta area and just grab a few that called out to me as I passed by:)
