Montrose Ruby does have some nice colors. For the most part mine also get quite a bit of sun. Last year I moved a bunch around into more sun and they seem happy there this year.

French Quarter has a lot more yellow on it this year than it has in the past.

I have so much shade around here and clay so my Heuch seem to struggle!!

Christine, I suspect that your climate and shorter growing season may be influencing your Heucheras. When we were on DG the folks who lived in the northern states always talked about which Heuchs worked up there and which didn't.

French Quarter took about 3 years before it started looking good. It's a slow grower and doesn't spread much at all. But it is an unusual one and I really like it.

Sounds like it should be more of a specimen plant than used for a border or grouping.

That's true! But it took so long to get established I hate to move it!

Heuchera 'Dark Secret' this morning with dew around the leaves. Hard to believe they were little liners last summer like those in the tray in the second photo.

So pretty with the dew on them. You're obviously a better liner mommy than I am!

Just had to share my Marmalade heuchera the colours since last year hav ebeen amazing like a coat of many colours.

Looking good, Stormy. I still have a lot of leaves to clear along the back border but the rain was keeping them so wet. It's a mess back there.

Thank you Scotkat & Pam! Right now it is a completely overgrown jungle and I have no time to give it the maintenance that it needs. I couldn't get a rake through it if I tried. The leaves will have to stay now until almost winter. Well, the mycorhizza should be happy at least!

Thank you Chris! Well, like all of us we see our own gardens with very critical eyes. I know where all of it's imperfection are and it's really bothering me that i can't get in there and fix them.

It is a massive garden and requires a number of hours of daily maintenance that I just can't do this year. As there is no water turned on at the house now, I'm hoping that leaving everything to fall where it does after blooming might help to keep some moisture on the ground as we head into the really hot months.

I agree -- it looks gorgeous and plush!! I have to get some photo's - I havent been able to take any photo's yet! whoops!

I'd be in big trouble if I had to spend hours a day maintaining my gardens. I hope they all stay happy until you're able to spend more time with them again. I'm sure leaving everything there will definitely hold in some moisture.
