Once they start leafing out it's almost impossible to over water them as long as the soil drains real well.
The bulbs Do Not like having there feet wet, meaning that they're sitting in water. That can surely cause the bulbs to rot.

Took this photo yesterday. They are about 6 feet tall and have a good 10 different sprouts coming out of the ground each. I'm particularly interested to see how big they'll get next year.
