She is very light on her feet, I heard nothing.

It sure will Sharon. I can't wait to see photos when the plants enter their prime time. I believe you already have a wonderful Moon Garden to add these plants to?

I did have a Moon Garden started then we had a major drought and I lost any hope of saving seeds from both the Moonflower vine and Jimson weed --did I spell that wrong? -- anyway, so I have a place for those two all ready for sure.

I really did think Doc was going to jump in there at the last minute so he had me scared for awhile. But I figured Lynn was sleeping in since it's earlier there and sometimes on Saturdays Hetty hits yard sales, so I took my chances. Big Grin

The Jimson Weed is actually Evening Fragrance Datura innoxia - there wasn't a picture of it and I didn't have one but they both look alike.

Sharon that is beautiful. I am so glad you will now have a replacement for it. It really stands out in the dark of evening/night. It is scented, isn't it?

Like brugmansia you either love the fragrance or absolutely hate it .. personally they both make me gag - if the flowers weren't so awesome I'd not grow it.

Like Anne, I prefer the bloom to the scent, especially when those blooms begin to open.

They have an amazing bloom routine, Hetty. The bud starts opening here at about 4 or 5 in the evening and by dark it is wide open and beautiful. You can almost watch the bloom unwind. I don't know another word to describe, but I am guilty of sitting and watching it open . . . takes about 4 or 5 hours to fully open. One of Nature's little known but amazing events.
Thanks, the picture is a little fuzzy, but it's almost like it's in slow motion for those hours just before dark.

Datura and Brugmansia are so closely related that in about to open stage you cannot tell the difference between the two!

They are closely related. The main difference is that Brugmansia blooms tend to be pendulous and the Datura blooms stand upright more or less.

I am so excited!

Sixteen plants in that box and I spent hours reading the detailed and beautifully written directions for each one. It was late when I got them yesterday, so I'm just now on my way out to open them up and to begin the planting. I'll take pictures along the way! Promise.

Anne, what a beautiful package of healthy plants and you know how excited I am with all of them, especially the Elephant Ears. Christmas on the last day of May, what could be better! Thank you so much for your generosity and for the detailed explanation of the needs of each plant. I can tell they came from a loving home.

Stay tuned for pictures!
