Reading that thread gives me hope for my 'Smoky Mountain Autumn' it also disappeared completely in September, so maybe it is also considered a hard dormant?

I'd give it a go, Flying Trapeze. Sometimes they can be quite surprising in hot climes. Sometimes.

I grow several dormants well. (Accidentally). I can get so excited looking at the bloom in a catalogue I forget to read.

I'd swap one of my cats for Primal Scream but lucky for them it is not available in Australia. (Well I probably wouldn't swap one but it would be close).

Glen, C-11 was from my early years, I was curious what Wedding Band could bring as a parent and what two Florida daylilies bring to my northern climate towards hardiness.

Primal Scream is almost impossible to get seedlings from. Neither pod, nor pollen work well. I must have pollinted more than 500 flowers of Primal Scream to get three pods. From those three pods came a handfull of seedlings. Every one of them has raging, glowing, color that one can see a mile away.

Primal Scream is very slow to multiply by new fans also, at least here in my garden it is a slow multiplier.

Greg, I managed to set 2 pods on Primal Scream this year which is not an easy task. The seeds are Primal Scream x Euromazing and Primal Scream x Free Wheelin.

Hey Cindy, Both of those are interesting crosses. It will be interesting to see if you get the Free Wheelin stipes on a day-Glo orange background.

It will be interesting but I am probably not planting any seeds because of possibly moving in the spring. Last year I believe was the only time I have ever set pods on Primal Scream. I actually set about 8 pods but only 2 matured.
