Look how many more buds opened today compared to yesterday. This Star Jasmine is out in the hot sun all day except when I put the awning down and then it still gets some sun and not much water.

Love the big, showy blooms on that Jasmine! I like that it blooms in the heat of summer too- the varieties that bloom in winter never did bloom for me.

I love smelling that the first thing in the morning before i go out and start my chores. I am having a problem with this small font. Maybe it is me, but it certainly seems to be getting smaller and smaller. Then of course I only have one eye at 20 20 vision. Have a good evening. I am out of here.

JB, you can change the font with a quick click. If you have Windows, click "view" at the very top of your screen, then click either "zoom" or it'll give you a choice to make your font 'small', 'medium', 'large', 'larger'. Depending on your operation system will determine how it is worded and may offer more choices than what I've given.

You can also hold down your Control key and move the wheel on your mouse to adjust the size. Give it a try.

Oh Shoe, I did it with one quick click. Thanks, That is so much better. I thought I was loosing it.
I love cube steak sandwiches on toast with catchup and hot peppers. That sounds so good that may just be lunch today. I always keep them on hand. As far as the taters go, I love my tators and lately I have been baking yams or the orange sweets and they are so good baked.
Sorry, got off topic. The thought of food does that to me. Big Grin

Sally,, Just thinking about it I can smell them. I had a beautiful Night Blooming Jasmine last year and it was so full and healthy and one morning I looked at it and it looked like it had snowed, it was full of Mealy Bug, like overnight. I took it out to the big field and had my SIL plow it under. I was so afraid it would spread to the others. It was way beyond cleaning up and spraying. I could not believe my eyes. I am still afraid to replace it and I miss it so much. Sad

I have three night blooming jasmine plants along the side of my lanai. I did have a problem with mealy bugs the first year with the first plant but have started using Bayer's 3-in-1 Systemic on all of them and have not had a problem since. I do hate to use it because most of my "outside" plants are there for the enjoyment of not only myself and neighbors, but for the enjoyment of the critters. But the mealybugs were awful that time. :(

I completely forgot to mention the Sweet Almond Bush that sits out there with the night blooming jasmine, the Madagascar Jasmine vine blooming inside the lanai and my potted rose bushes! I love sitting outside evenings and early morning and getting the combined scent of all of them.

My Pikake Jasmine is flowering more this year than in the past 4. It's loaded with buds and blooms.

Interesting Marie. Looks like "yours" was named to honor Duke Kahanamoku... the very famous Hawaiian surfer!

I'm incorrect. I looked up Grand Duke and it looks like the "long" name is Grand Duke of Tuscany! I was thinking > pikake >Hawaii > Duke > Kananamoku > Hawaiian surfer! Anyhoo.... smells great I hear. Just like Pikake flower.

Yes, it's gardenia time and I think that's my favorite scent.......however, the amaryllis belladonna will all flower soon and then I'll think that it's my favorite scent....

I don't know, maybe someone will ID it. I had a $50 grafted gardenia that got planted and died...sigh. This is a little guy that was $8 for a 5 gallon and he's still in that 5 gallon pot a year later and blooming his head off...lol. I think he deserves a large clay pot and to stay right where he is. It's not a spot where I would plant him, but he's happy there, so I'll pick up a large pot for him today and leave him sit where he is....and maybe go by that really cheap nursery again and see if they happen to have more.

My Moonflower vine just put out it's first blossom. I was walking by just a few minutes ago and caught a faint whiff of a perfume I had not scented before. I parted the leaves and sure enough, there is a nice, big, white flower! This is like an insomniac morninglory! Hilarious! It opens up early evening and closes early morning. Such a pretty flower with a delicate, pretty scent.

I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I noticed my Mitriostigma Axillare "African Gardenia" was blooming for the third time and it is just as fragrant this time as it was months ago. This is a wonderful plant. I am hoping to be able to propagate some of them. I would love to have many more just for the pleasure they bring to my home.

I just found this forum........ I had OT and Orientals fragrating (is that a word?) my yard in July, Now I have brugmansia blooming. Delta Dawn, a large pink noid and I noticed <Monster white is sure to open in a couple days and Lise is getting buds.

Last summer the brugs bloomed every 6 weeks whether they needed to or not. This year has been weird and rough on them,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
