I have some bloodroot to plant out at a weoodland site in laurelville OH.

I plan to work in some bark mulch into soil now so that it can start to decay, pending an autumnal plant-out.

Do I need to tinker with PH? As in add oystershell, sulfur?

Which is the scientific name your plant?

Bloodroot (Sanguinaria canadensis) is not sensitive to pH - most species aren't. It does well in highly alkaline garden soil here, as well as in the more acidic soils of eastern North America where it is native, so, offhand, I don't see why you'd try to change the soil pH (not that throwing in a little soil amendment would really have any lasting effect on the pH anyway).

The Sapling-In-Chief wants a full and active(ly blooming) campground. especially in the wooded areas.

I also have some flask grown cypripedium that the grower does recommend adding some oyster shell to soil.
