Brugmansia 'Short Standards'

By gone2seed

Almost everyone likes “standards,” those nice straight tree brugs. Standards form well-shaped canopies and make a great display when they bloom. Unfortunately, not all plants want to grow in the shapes we like best.

Thread OP

I'm gong to try this, it sounds great.
How big around can the base of the cutting be? If it is woody will it still root?
Here is my first bloom from my new baby....Thumb of 2010-12-10/mstish/e770aa

Woody works better than green wood.I can't say how large the upper size limit wouild be but I have rooted some a couple of inches in diameter.Be sure to add some peroxide to the water or change it every other day until the lenticels form.

Every day is too often.Once a week, during spring and summer, for established plants is plenty.
