LOL, at age 66 I feel the same way. There are many who don't think nature is much fun but to me it's the best blessing ... to be able to see the beauty around us and take a few photo's along the way!

A few more from about an hour ago. I saw what I thought were two hummingbirds jousting again but it happened to be a hummer chasing a blue-gray gnatcatcher which is only a tad larger than the hummer; it was so funny and then the hummer went after a bumble bee! Nature is not only fun but it sure makes me smile too!

Red Bellied Woodpecker. This guy is very selective with what he pulls from the feeder. According to the folks a Wild Bird where I got this blend they eat it because it has a high fat content. Supposedly the Bluebirds will eat it in winter. We'll see. But notice the two photos showing this guy taking the same packet of "stuff" each time.

Betty is adorable ... our Bo chases the squirrels but he's wanting to catch them rather then chase them away. Great shot of that handsome male Red-bellied and the male Cardinal too; crisp shots that show their vivid colors!

It's been raining here off and on all day but I have managed to get two more shots. A Blue Heron looking for a fish and another Hummingbird, maybe the same one that's been hanging around all day?

Dave, Betty The first dog we had when I was a child was named Betty. she was fantastic & I bet your Betty is too. That cardinal looks to be peeking around at you.

What dragonfly?

Betty is a stray that my wife adopted along with her litter of 8 puppies and their Daddy. Rojo, the daddy, was placed with a friend of ours. The pups all went to good homes. Betty was spayed and is now a member of our family. (One of 6 dogs that live with us). My wife likes to say that Betty went from homeless to the penthouse. Don't know if living here is the penthouse but one thing I do know for sure. If reincarnation existed I would want to spend my next life as one of Dini's dogs here at Happily EverAfter.

Something tells me Betty has quite a wonderful life. What a great thing to do adopting her & her babies along with the dad too AND finding good homes far all of them. You & your wife are good people.

Dave, I agree with Ann ... y'all are good people! I grew up with lots of dogs and cats and my husband and I are animal lovers and have had many furry critters in our household over the past 45 years; dogs, 5 cats, birds, fish ... well, I don't really think of the fish as pets though, they are just here. Your comment made me think of my mom who always used to say if she could be reincarnated she'd want to come back as one of our pets.

A couple of little guys today. One brightly colored and one very subtle. American Goldfinch and Tufted Titmouse.

Nice! We had quite a few of the Tufted Titmouse around for awhile but they seem to have moved on.

A little hummingbird was back again a few minutes ago.

I have a little female today. She is keeping all the males away.

I saw this bird on the city trees by my yard..I am not good at bird ID, anyone knows what it is? Sorry a bit blurred, that's as much as my camera can see it..hiding way up there. And I think it is watching me back
