Oreo is one I'm wait yet to open, it's close. I also have another one that hasn't opened yet that I didn't see until last night.

Do these two usually bloom late for you Tom or are these new this year?

I've had Darcey's Choice since it was a new intro, it's never been this late, and Oreo is a new plant. That reminds me maybe the wind had died enough for me to take a picture of Darcey's Choice.

I am not on here much at all. I am not great with the computer and I can't sit in this chair for long, but I LOVE my iris. Been my favorite all my long life.

I don't have a lot of room for gardens where I live now and only got started three years ago. I only have about 16 iris so far, but I will list a few. BTW, I LOVE all of your photos-you are killing me with want. ;o)

This is "Clarence". Photos cannot do it justice and it has good fragrance. Each bloom seems to last forever and there are plenty of them!

This is "Happenstance", which bloomed for the first time this year. Another that is even more gorgeous in person!
Thumb of 2014-06-15/TiaLee/b84808

This beauty was a surprise to me. I can't remember buying it! But I am glad I did. This is Mezmerizer. Very prolific and TALL and scented. I had to add a second photo, because the first doesn't do it's ruffles justice. (I do love my ruffles)

Another, and possibly my all time favorite (I love the blues) is Sea Power, which I finally got last year. This is it's first bloom and worth every minute of waiting.

TiaLee -- you might not have many, but you sure do have good ones!! nodding I also have Clarence, Happenstance and Sea Power -- and there will always be a spot in my garden for these. I don't have Mesmerizer -- and wish I did. I've been looking for a white with white beards -- and this one is ruffly and space-age to boot!! Perfect!!

Friendly Advice

Blue Trill, an iris that puts the lie to the idea that there are too many light blue iris on the market, or at least there weren't in 2010. Hilarious!

TiaLee- Nice pictures! This was the first year for 'Clarence' for me, so I'm looking forward to more blooms in the coming years. 'Sea Power' has intrigued me for some time..

Woo Hoo Kent!
I've got Montmartre on order... Glamorama is gorgeous! Haunted Heart is another one that has me interested... 'Wintry Sky' hasn't done as well for me (yet) as 'Chance of Flowers', which is the best reverse amoena in my garden so far.

Beautiful irises Kent. you listed three in a row that are on my wish list. Blue Trill, I Must Have It and Haunted Heart. The CAIS grows Blue Trill in the state capitol iris beds. I help with the Big Dig every year and some of our cultivars double their increases and some have one or two if any. Blue Trill is one of those that has so few increases it never makes it to the sale. I am going to have to get serious about my wish lists, yes plural, and stop adding cultivars to it. It is a daunting list.

I got I Must Have It last year -- lost it over the winter. Crying

Have Montmartre on order this year -- finally -- and have Haunted Heart on my wish list too.

Also got Wintry Sky last year -- it didn't bloom this year, but at least it didn't die. Have to find a good spot for it -- it's in the temporary bed next to the garage. Whistling

I am in love with Haunted Heart thanks to the pics on this forum. Yours is spectacular. I like Salome's Butterfly too. Is it a smaller bloom? Can't really tell by the picture.

Interesting, Blue Trill has always been a good grower for me and has bloomed every year since I bought it.

I received I Must Have It as a bonus in 2011. It didn't bloom in 2012, but had a very healthy looking clump. It was spectacular last year. Looked a little peaked this spring, but it was a tough winter on a lot of irises here (I also set about a half dozen pods on it in 2013 which might have taken some vigor out of it). I expect it will be great again next year.

Haunted Heart is just a wonderful iris all the way around.

Hadn't really thought about it, but Salome's Butterfly probably has smaller blooms than any of the other irises in my post. I never considered them to be "small", though. Pretty average I guess. Then again, maybe I need to reevaluate what average means in terms of TB flower size these days. Hilarious!
