...update. The last pic I showed, that pot went GREAT! It got wild, barely fit through doorways, and very thirsty toward the end. But now, there are cuttings all around my yard that are taking off well. Here's the pot today. There's a palm tree sprout in there, sticking up at the left. Planning to take more cuttings from it soon, and probably put the whole root ball in the ground as I've already done with some other group pots.



These 2 group pots were put together about 3 yrs ago, lending many cuttings to other spots & pots over that time:



Excuse the construction, we're building a new porch, reeeeaaallly slooooowly. This pot is about 2 yrs old.


These 2 pots haven't been disturbed for a while, but had a lot of new cuttings added this past fall, then taken again recently to decorate the yard:

Wahoo. That is amazing how many plants you have from the original planting.

When I started to run out of space for my hanging baskets, we built verticals so I can swap the baskets out when I feel like it. I just love the extra depth it gives to the garden.

That truly makes everything look so lush and beautiful. And I really like the small tiles you put on the post. Like little treasures to be discovered.

I remove the hangers and sink the hanging basket into a larger container except my hummingbird feeder baskets.

@Susan -- that's a very good idea; the double insulation prevents them from drying out too quickly.

A couple pots I thought were looking perky this morning... With the goal of not being able to see the pot, things have progressed more slowly for most pots than I'd fantasized, but this one's well on its' way. Easier to see sitting on a chair.


This I LOVE. I think this Tradescantia cerinthoides is my fav Trad right now, but that's a tough decision, not sure. Putting a Coleus cutting here is crazy, so of course I'm trying it.

This pot now has 4 plants blooming, Easter cactus, Tradescantia cerinthoides, wax Begonia, Tahitian bridal veil (Gibasis geniculata.)

Tiffany, they might fill up faster this season. I love the combination plants. I'm still learning to put plants together.

Tiffany they are looking good. I like all the colors foliage you put in your pots..

Gigi you make some kick butt succulent pots. I saw the one you made over in the "Show your Container" chat with the PaddlePlant plant. That is a beauty.

@purpleinopp - I had a huge hanging basket of Tradescantia hanging from a tree branch in my back yard flower bed. Before I realized it, little pieces broke off or were blown off and it just spread all over (I still haven't managed to remove it all -- a year later).

Tiffany, what is the plant in the middle of the container in the first photo? Interesting looking.
And second photo, what is the orange/red blooming plant?

TY. That's Ardisia elliptica first, then Chrysothemis pulchella. The pot the Chrysothemis is in was a lot more full but I just cut everything back about 2 weeks ago to give the Chry more light & space. I've put more pics of that plant here:
