I did not plant Coleus this year..maybe will try again next year.

But I saw recently these bath tubs with lovely coleus plants at a nursery we visited last Sunday 23Nov2014

Love those pics, Tarev! Obvious evidence that more is MORE!

By now, I've taken all the cuttings possible. There weren't many this year since I lost most of my saved Coleus to a late frost. I stuck them in pots instead of using jars of water. Out of about 50, only 3-4 failed to take. So it looks like this year will end with a bunch of Coleus as house plants.

I was surprised to see those coleus too! A real good splash of color!

Hope the remaining cuttings hold on Tiffany.

TY! They're doing great, all leafed back out by now. That was about a month ago. Enjoying those pots even more w/ the Coleus sticking out of them!

Here's a few of the pots with recently added Coleus:

(Why are all 3 hanging in front of something fugly? LOL! Oh well, just look @ the plants, OK? TY. Our house is kind of an ongoing destruction/construction zone.)

Just a little reminder: Coleus often form sports. When trying to ID a certain plant, remember that one or more plant characteristic (plant size, leaf size, leaf color, etc) can easily change spontaneously and end up looking totally different. e.g. I had a tilt-a-whirl which formed a sport and turned totally red. And it was totally awesome.

I have several that just popped up in the garden by seed. Interesting to look at but not worth writing home to mother about. I can usually guess what one of the parents was. I have nearly 50 bushes throughout the garden and there are lots of chance for hybridising if I don't spot the flowers first.

The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

Tiffany your pots bring back my childhood memories of my Mom with all the coleus in pots with the old usual houseplants. Her pots were never just one green plant. It had lots of coleus for color and peace lilies, ivy and basket plant

Tarev, are those metal flowers in the pots? I picked up some glass flowers at Goodwill because I had not seen them in a long time. I think I will put them in my pots this summer.
