Christine, it looks like a great many sites list the common name of "Rosy Red Yarrow" for Achillea millefolium var. rubra. As noted above this now a synonym for Achillea aspleniifolia. I'll look further into this.

It seems likely that Rosy Red Yarrow is a common name as noted above. Even the second link you provided is using it as a common name for Achillea Millefolium Rubra. I've added the common name to Yarrow (Achillea asplenifolia), as well as the Also sold as name of Achillea millefolium 'Rosy Red'.
