Jim, would it be best to submit my first few Blc. plants via T-Mail or on the forum, for other's to see?

I agree I really like that Zygostates lunata too.

Ken, let's start on this thread just to show folks how names are changing and then move to tree mail or perhaps a new thread as it gets tedious. What do you think, Ursula?

Geez, I have 18 talks already scheduled for the gardening season beginning in September.

Will do, Jim, unless Ursula disagrees. I will wait until she chimes in.

Sounds good to me!! You can start already, or wait until tomorrow when we have the new August thread. This way it isn't all over the place.

In the meanwhile the Penny Kuroda is now fully open. And it is only a Cattleya.... Smiling

Good idea, Ursula. I will wait until tomorrow and then "trickle in" the Blc. plants. I don't change the name until I have to re-print my laminated labels, but at least I will know what's right when that time comes.

All those wonderful flowers and only one name, it's a real winner! Melanie, forgot to say just love the Wizard.

I have a mysterious ailment on my two bloomers, the purple NOID Den and the 4th and 5th spikes on the big sunset NOID. The edges of the petals look bleached or cracked, and the color is leached out of them. Both plants doing the same thing, even on new flowers not yet all the way open. Doesn't look like any insects, I looked with the magnifying glass in the bright light this morning.

Could it be just too hot for the flowers to hold? We've had a couple of "low humidity" days, but I've been misting faithfully.

Pretty, but yes, they do look a little dry around the edges, perhaps a bit dehydrated.

I recommend a Penny Kuroda! It is a good Summer bloomer. Thumbs up Smiling

Yikes, yet another bug I haven't seen before . . . there's just never a dull moment!

Haven't had to resort to the good ol' 3 in 1 for quite a while.
