Congratulations on the third anniversary, I can tell by the pride in your voices you have accomplished a lot in those three years. Enjoyed the podcast, enjoyed Dave's excitement over his new irrigation system, and the new outdoor expansion for cuttings. Enjoyed Trish's presentation of all the tomato information also.

It is possible I may need to re listen to the podcast because I thought you both were explaining that you could use the database to look for certain characteristics in plants. For instance, if I wanted to find what tomatoes are recommended for sauce tomatoes. I tried to search for the best sauce tomatoes and got "no results". It seems I will have to open up each tomato listed and read thru each one to see if any are described with characteristics that would contribute to good sauce. Am I just not using the search feature correctly?

Go to the Tomatoes Database and click on "Search by characteristics (height, bloom color, etc)"

You can go directly there by clicking here: http://garden.org/plants/group...

Then scroll down to the "Best Uses" area and check off "Canning" and then click on the Search button back at the top, and you'll find 546 tomatoes that are good for canning.
