Which trees are the most popular in the Northern regions of the United States? Let's find out!

I don't see any of the trees (Zone 4) of the Northern Temperate Forest in this list: Sugar maples, birches, beeches, or any of the northern conifers. Or any of the northern fruit trees: cherries, apples, juneberries that do not grow here in the south (Zone 8)

My daughter brought seeds from the Golden Raintree she saw in Texas. It grew here indoors but I doubt it would survive being out doors in a zone 4. I will plant it anyway as I have no way to ship a 3' tree to texas, nor does she want it. Says it would be like sending coals to New Castle.
