I got this Salvia at Lowe's off their junk shelf. Dont' know why it was there except that it only had one bloom on it. Here is the thing. The picture clearly shows a pink salvia. But the one bloom on it is clearly cream color! I'm not mad. I actually picked it up because it was cream colored. I don't have one like that. But this is par for the chorus at big box stores! Don't EVER buy something not blooming. You really never know what you are going to get. I kid you not. Nine times out of ten it is not what is labeled.

So, upon further research what I bought is most likely Heatwave GLIMMER! Kind of silly to name two salvias in the same series so similar. That is just asking for problems IMHO

Had the same situation with some Lowes Gaillardia clearance plants. They were marked Mesa Yellow, but when they bloomed, they were obviously Oranges and Lemons. At $0.50 a pot, I am not complaining one bit, at you say, it is just something to keep in mind. Smiling

I always prefer to buy a plant blooming for the same reasons y'all had.

FBTS offers that Salvia, I'm pretty sure. I have and love the Blaze variety! Lovey dubby (which they offer too)

People are always removing the tags and sticking them in the wrong pots. Most of the time what I get at Lowes matches the tag though.

Almost all pots at Lowe's have a sticker on the pot AND a tag in the pot. I always check to see if they match. In this particular case the sticker and tag matched. It was the wrong plant in the pot. That of course is not Lowe's fault.

That's great that they're doing that now. I don't always get to Lowe's and it wasn't always like that.

I'll have to start remembering to check the sticker (label) and the tag to make sure they match! Thumbs up
