True-blue flowers can be difficult to find, especially for the late summer garden, when golds and russets begin to dominate the landscape.

I have two Caryopteris × clandonensis 'Dark Knight' and just love them! They sometimes even multiply by self-layering and I've given away a few starts that way. Thankfully, they do not do this enough to be considered invasive. They are one of the few late bloomers and I love the smell when I grab a stem and crush the leaves.

I bought the blue glory bower from a small nursery 15 miles from where I live. I just had to buy it! The blue butterflies are so cute! I recently cut them back and am rooting them - hopefully I will have extras to share.

The "mist flowered" forms of Caryopteris must have a more pleasant foliage fragrance than divaricata. I avoid touching it because it has such a pungent aroma. I'll have to look up Dark Knight. Thank You!
I grew my Glory Bower from seed piksihk, but I'm thinking of taking cuttings and discarding the parent to save room this winter. Thumbs up

Yes, definitely do check it out. It has a nice fragrance, but I can't put my finger on exactly what it reminds me of.

I wish I could grow Glory Bower, but I am afraid it would not survive my zone 6b garden.
