Smiling Well, it looks like it was a great match!

I love tropicals! I have ferns, banana trees, sagos, Mexican fan palms, yellow jasmine, two rose of Sharon, Angel Trumpets, plumerias and ginger,

Two deep freezes and a drought wiped me out of many dollars worth of plants. At one time we had over a hundred banana trees. Now maybe 30.

We had about 16 hibiscus die. All heartbreaking.....

I know about shoe strings!!!

Time to talk about ferns again. This is an oldie but a good thread and I have a question today.

Has anyone ever grown any of the footed ferns in the ground? I have one (no idea which) that was given to me and it has outgrown the pot and frankly, I don't want any more plants in pots I have more than enough to take care of and water now. How do you think this one would do in the ground.

you have resurrection ferns on the east coast and we have Licorice ferns here in the NorthWest

the western sword fern is a weed here Smiling
2 more ferns that do well in my garden are the Japanese painted (Athyrium niponicum)

the Maidenhair fern (Adiantum pedatum ) grows very well in this part of the world
and is all over my property

several years ago i bought (Pteris-cretica-'gauthieri' Fern) off Etsey

can not find much info on it, but it looks very much like (Bird's Foot Fern (Pteris parkeri)
so i have purchased a cpl of them to see if they grow up to look like what i have
