That stem didn't live long. Now another stem is making a couple of plain yellow leaves.


The little white spots on the stem photobombing to the right aren't bugs, they're the micro flower petals of Callisia fragrans.

Mine makes solid leaves a lot. It doesn't mean anything

It means to me that I am enjoying observing the leaves.

At least your Brazil is growing, mine is sort of stuck, putting it back outside today.

I stuck some runners that I took off my big overflowing Brasil totem in the GH in the ground before winter started, and got them rooted. They went through that one night of 27 we had no problem. I stuck them out on a Lorapetalum tree

The tip of Phil's 1st leaf of this year got munched on or frost bite, but it's still a pretty good leaf I think.

Philodendron Summer Glory

I have that P. Summer Glory, I like how the new leaves are a bronze color with a touch of pink in the veins. I kept an eye on them for awhile before purchasing one. They were potted in planters outside the place I buy plants from for a good year, did well with the morning hot summer sun and the cool winter nights. The lower leaves fade away as new leaves emerge, keeping it a more manageable size for potted plant.

It's a nice plant. Hybrid by Lari Ann Garner, who in the long years past was the Moderator for the Aroid page here. A friend scored small ones for us a couple years ago for $5 at EFG sale. They grow pretty fast and I haven't had any problems with it.

I had to give my Philodendron rugosum (the green one poking up there) the chop. It had reached the top of the support and lost the lower leaves so it was Dr Seuss Philo on a pole. It's already growing back. But I made these new poles, so I could put some other stuff on there with it. There is my Philo gigantium 'Blizzard', and a Syngonium albo. Infront I set an aurea form Alocasia gageana. I like the look!

Philodendron subincisum is about to go off the totem and out into space.

I didn't know Lariann Garner was once a moderator here, but do remember reading some of her articles years ago on Dave's Garden. Philodendron subincisum is a real beauty for sure.

When I joined this page a few years ago her name was still listed as the mod even though she had not been on here by that point in years. She also had some great information sidebarred, which was removed when I asked to take over as the moderator (and was denied). I still talk to Lari Ann occasionally. She is one of my friends on Facebook.

So the above referenced plant is still a mystery. The prevailing opinion is that it is called 'Henderson's Delight'. But t also may be Heather May, or Orchid Delight. All seem identical. Its seemingly unknown if its a hybrid, naturally occurring, and where it originated, although the name Henderson does seem to indicate some sort of origin with Keith Henderson, who originated Henderson's Pride (the much larger growing rosette forming plant also known as Sawtooth, Jungle Boogie, and a few other synonyms.
