It can grow 20 - 30' a year, When we had a chain link fence, it covered it all which equaled the north and east extent of property. It almost always blooms Sept 1st and inevitably was a show-stopper. Once I had red Cypress Vines grow up through it, that was quite cool - small red blooms in a sea of white. Once did it w/ Gloriosas also, pretty cool.
The seed pods in the fall go through an interesting evolution to become airborne dispersers. Starts as 4 to 8 cogged aggregates that then grows 'feathers' on each wing before breaking the aggregate and becoming airborne.
