I was at Lowe's today and they have Warsaw Nike for sale...and did pick it up and looked at the little thing...but resisted (I really don't need another one to baby). It had already formed a shoot.
I have my newly purchased "City" of Lyon clem's growing at my kitchen window and they're already more than 2" tall. They were a Walmart purchase last week.
Never give up on Omoshiro. Be patient, give it a drink of Epsom Salt, and wait for it to spring into action. Have your other clematises grown much this year? Even if they have, I'd vote for patience for Omoshiro.
The clematis are doing well here in GA, my armandii Snowdrift is full of buds, and the 1st blooms opened today.
Ramona, Arabella, and Crystal Fountain are also leafing out nicely. I'm glad I was able to get them fertilized this week, and we've had rain intermittently for several several days that's given them a good soaking.
Debra, it looks alot like Pink Champagne or Kakio. This is mine that started blooming at the beginning of April. What do you all think?
It is so much fun to see those vines growing. Sometimes it seems a foot a day....and then those buds look like they are going to burst.
Nelly is a reliable early one.

Couldn't believe one of our local nursery/decorative store has Bees jubilee and jackmannii supra $14 each. Haven't seen Clems expect at HD, the ones in the bags. I got the Bees J. And found a nice size root system.
A week later I went back to see if there were any left- there were still plenty and now they're marked down 2/$12...they were looking rather sad - lack of water- sitting in doors - in paper pots...after finding two that looked ok, checked out and told cashier that they were dying - she said that is probably why they were marked down. 😢
I may have to go rescue them if they look somewhat decent on Monday.
