I would be interested in a build-your-own deal. I think that is a GREAT idea to save on postage. IDK how challenging of a project that would make for your husband to do cut outs and drilling but it still would be his design. Would they be pretty much plain? Aside from birdhouses for my local birds to use, I would love to set up a bird house "city", you know, a church, a store, a schoolhouse designed birdhouse etc.

Cheryl I love the build your own idea also. I was thinking of maybe painting some of the roofs. But not the houses
as we really want to use cedar so they last.

This one did not get mounted, But, that did not stop the birds from staying in it with the snow storms. I keep it under the deck for them

They look really well made.

There is a guy who sells bird and bat houses at the farmer's market where I have a booth. He also sells squirrel feeders and he makes a killing. The prices start at about 40$ and he probably sells 5 or 6 every time he comes.

Those bird houses do look nice and well-made. What is the wood used?
