Last fall I bought an "Aurora" sedum @ HD and planted in 2 places. I was reading a thread about the hardiness of Pork and Beans and I thought to myself that looks like my Aurora. Yesterday I was looking in HD again and the Aurora looked grayish green, Pork and Beans looked green like my plant. Anyone grow both? P&B shouldn't be hardy here but Aurora should.

Hi Kabby, (I love your cute avatar!!) sleepy puppy Thumbs up I'm in zone 7B (I think, I never remember - even though it says on my info Shrug! ) I have my P&Beans under cover so it stays dry and up against a cement wall. It has stayed looking so pretty! Mine is colored up because of the cold and also because of the amount of sun its getting. I think Aurora is pinker, and least the ones that I've seen. I also think that if they're not getting enough sun they'll both get more green and less coloration...that's a guess though. I tip my hat to you.

@gg5 Greg thank you for your reply. From what you've told me and seeing the 2 plants together I think you are exactly right. If they are still there in the spring I'm going to get both.
Thanks for complimenting Buddy the puppy. He had just completed a 5 hr journey to his new home. Full grown now, he has our hearts! Lovey dubby

Hi Kabby.
Both are of the same species, but 'Aurora' is a chimera of the popular Sedum rubrotinctum (Pork and Beans). Flowers are a paler shade of yellow than the species.
Both are wonderful sedum and should have similar growing conditions, just like Greg said.

Thanks Lynn I didn t even think about looking at the database for photos. Yep I have to have both of them even if I have to bring them in for the winter. I just love all the different textures of sedum. Smiling

Just to keep it on topic, I look forward to having a photo of Buddy next to my new sedum this summer. Whistling I was just out in the yard looking at Coral Reef, how healthy it looks while the others are waiting til the dismal weather is over. It's just too easy to add sedum to my plant addictions. nodding
Sorry you have to click on the photo to see all of my sweet fella.

Thanks Lynn! It still looks nice, though getting too dry here now..we need a little rain. Rolling my eyes. The succulents would love some natural liquid gold.

It seems when they get that liquid sunshine they go through some wonderful changes in color and growth.
We are still cool and damp, but at least getting some dry spells. That makes my semps happy. It was actually sunny today.

Thankfully we get some dense fog too..it helps alleviate some of the dryness.
