Donald I would have to think that one of those photos(' Make Room For Miracles')is of the wrong daylily.
Here is another photo.

Larry, that's the same as the one I 'borrowed', but my borrowing wasn't from that site. I'm guessing that's the hybridizer photo the sellers are using. Lot of difference in the photos, especially with the yellow edge in one, but not the other. If mine should be wrong, I'd want to detag it.

Char, yes, that's where my current poly focus is - on the tets. It's tough slogging, though... at best I have only produced low % seedlings thus far, and I felt like I was gut-punched last summer when I discovered rust on 'Polly Wolly Doodle', which is dependably poly here, and which I had been trying to work with. (I can't give you an exact poly percentage in my garden for PWD; Richard Norris says 40% and I'd say that's certainly close to what I see here.) I will continue to try to work with it, but I am now going to limit my crosses to things that have rust resistance... which means probably a couple of generations to see if I can get anything poly back. There really is very little dependably poly tet material out there, once you discount all the many cultivars that occasionally throw a poly bloom or two.

I am almost tempted to go back to the dips. (I do have a couple of poly dip seedlings (and a third from Paul Dunaway) that I have kept over the years, and last summer I was discouraged enough that I made a couple of crosses with two of them. I may even plant a few of the seeds...)
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

Donald, I hate to say it but in some cases the hybridizer's photo is the worst place to see what the real plant will look like.
'My Millicent' actually came to me from the Shooters in an order, it doesn't really look like the photo used for

One more "M" and I can't believe I forgot to list these on the 2014 Bloom List. Here is Meringue Mirage which is almost a tie with Jean Swann for favorite double DL.

Char, Mitchell Leichhardt, is an elderly nurseryman that lives about 30 miles from me. He always had the best nursery around.
He sold out a few years ago.

Well gee, I was digging around looking for something and found a few more favorite "M" daylilies....

How I forgot this one is beyond me, love the wide petals and chubby sepals. Lee's plants have always grown extremely well here.

Char,

Did you mean 'Michael Bennett'? I can't find 'Michael Miller'. That's quite a contrast in the two photos of 'Mary Alice Stokes'. Any reason? I guess a daylily that could vary a lot dependably with three different looks could be named 'Three Faces Of Eve'! Somehow 'Two Faced' isn't working for me for a name Smiling . Y'all take such good photos!
