I 'm glad I live in Tampa, I only have 1 dessert rose but Home Depot and lowes have these plants and they are affordable. I'm waiting to see if they carry a double rose before I buy another one.

Doris, I use Jack's Something-or-Other soluble fertilizer, and I also use Spray and Grow, without cocowet, it's a lot of micro things like copper, zinc, boron and others. I feed very very weakly with every watering, unless somebody is really dry, then I use fresh water. Oh, and my mix and watering is on the alkaline side. The Adeniums that are in the ground here do great in soil that is so alkaline that it turns test strips dark blue, not anywhere green. Acid is yellow, and a medium green is neutral on test strips.

SO, an alkaline environment is better for Adeniums. Sometimes I add a little pinch of baking soda to a gallon of water for my plants.

Plus I've spent a lot of money buying Adeniums from Taiwan growers!

Oh, Doris, one thing I do have that sadly, you cannot, is full tropical sunshine. My plants are only indoors when a hur--hur---- bad windy storm is approaching.

You could invest in a strong grow light, if the electric bill is not too bad.

I am almost fearful of selling! A third person on facebook has messaged me wanting to buy plants! Wa! I won't let anyone see my collection at home! They wouldn't be safe!

The garden center got in a new bunch of too-fast-grown pinks today. They're planted in Jungle Mix. A recipe for overwatering!

Double yellow is about to open. Smiling
On a less positive note, I had to consign my 'Harry Potter' to the trash this morning. Completely rotten... Sad

The single Purple only looks this intense color when the blooms first open; they fade rather quickly.

Love the purple. I keep saying one adenium is enough for me but when I see all this blooms...hmmm so tempting.

This is my little miracle... one if my 'almost lost adenium' (check out the caudex) is on a flowering frenzy...

Don't feel bad I have about 200 succulents in my apartment.

I agree with you both. I really need to get rid of a lot of mine but these 2 jumped in my cart last night and are now home.

I'm watching the big one closely though before repotting it because there are 2 snail riders on this one. I don't know if these are pests.

Also, not sure if I can trim the inside growth to allow air? Are the cuttings like plumeria that can be planted? I don't know much about adeniums.

Yes you can plant the cuttings, very similar to plumeria cuttings. There is some debate over whether the cuttings will eventually develop a caudex or not.

Thanks Hetty...my husband said leave it alone Hilarious! and reminded me how many plants I have already. There were plants with bigger caudex than this one but I didn't get them because it means bigger pots 😃

Nurseries tend to push Adeniums. Watering and feeding to the max. Of course, they're only in it for the money. I'd be doing the same thing if I had a big greenhouse!!

I agree these adeniums in HD look really fat and well fed. Maybe it is just me but the smallest of the 2 had more appeal with me than the big ones.
