I dug a new spot and planted both Mid-American and Iris Sisters orders yesterday. Mid- American gave me a bonus Iris 'Water Waltz'. When I opened my Iris Sisters order I was like a kid on Christmas morning! She gave me 6 extras!! I was Bowled Over (the name of one of them!) I have never been so excited and happy opening an order before! lol Had to share.
So on top of what I ordered I also got...
Bowled Over
White Hot
Adoree
Fashionista
Renascent
Metro Blue

After all kinds of web surfing trying to figure out which white fragrant lilies I could add to my garden to have bloom right now, I still don't have any in bloom at the moment. I am trying again and placed an order with B&D Lilies for Siberia (Oriental), Gizmo (Oriental / Easter Lily) and Zambesi (Orienpet). It is really hard to find pure white hybrids, but those are pretty close.
Siberia should be a late bloomer according to the info I found, but they have it listed as blooming mid to late July while they have Casablanca blooming in August, so I am hoping it will bloom earlier here too.

(My Asiatic hybrids just finished up and I am waiting for Orientals to start which is usually the first week of August, so it is just this week that I have nothing!)

Wow..you have ordered some lovely flowers, Meredith......I didn't know you wanted white lilies....I have on blooming now, but have no idea what it is! Nicki took all the tags last summer, & chewed them, or scattered them about.....

Lot's of lilies blooming at sister's house- took photos Saturday. Will post soon- haven't uploaded them to computer yet. Her husband was in ER yesterday, been sick since Friday, so she really hasn't had a chance to visit ATP. I'M sure she'll be glad when she does see all your welcoming posts. Plus, she is a bit internet wary.

Sorry about family illness.

I am not as happy about bonus plants as I used to be (even the dwarfs) as we want to cut back. However since most of them are dwarfs I can often use them in hybridizing.

I took the ideas you gave me and figured out what types they were. The Conca D or are Orienpet which have been recommended to me before. So I got the Zambesi because they are Orienpets. The Gizmo are crossed with easter lilies which would be blooming around now. So hopefully one will fill in my gap Smiling
Of course after ordering Siberia lilies, when I was out today I found Siberia lilies in bloom 3 bulbs to a pot for under $12 a pot! (Murphy's Law) If I hadn't ordered them I would have never came across some! Oh well. I bought a pot so I can enjoy some this year. Smiling

I usually feel the same, but she gave me 3 or 4 that were on my substitution list so they were ones I actually wanted! Smiling Lovey dubby

Last night the air was very heavy, & the scent from the lily garden almost made me dizzy! My gardens are pretty filled up, but I can always tuck an iris someplace......

I love nights like that. One year I had success with lots of Nicotiana and I remember some evenings like that. I have some stargazers and once they open they fill the yard some days. Yesterday I found a 3 gallon Scentsation Honeysuckle at a Garden Center. It smelled really nice, however it had a bunch of red berries on it. My son was standing there talking about eating the berries. I tried to explain you couldn't or you'd get sick, but it makes me nervous having stuff like that with a young one running around. Maybe a couple more years. I also wonder if they are invasive like the bush honeysuckles and just newer and not a known problem.

Nicotiana! I'd forgotten how much I love it. Yes, the nighttime fragrance is awesome! And yes, a new trend is often noted by unofficial public long before agencies/government agencies.

Hard to have berried bushes with little ones......although my grandson Grant would yell poison at all berries! Although he lives on a blueberry farm, he has never eaten one.....he's a terrible eater.....Garret was, too, but he loved all fruits & veggies......

I have the native coral one too, I almost completely lost it, but it slowly grew up my arbor this year, and managed a bloom about a month ago and one almost open now. I was so happy it came back. There was one little piece that fought through the winter. It has no scent at all. That was the thing I liked about the other. I think I've seen a couple berries on it but since it is on an arbor they are usually too high fr me to worry. However I wanted to plant the scented one on my pool fence so it is close to where we hang out and I could enjoy the fragrance. So it would be easily accessible.
