Do any of you grow Siberians in with your bearded iris?

Leslie, I grow them together. They make happy neighbors. I mulch, which Sibs seem to appreciate, but I just keep it off the beardies. I grow JIs and Louisianas among beardies too.

I have 3 NOID Sib's that I keep among the bearded I just water them more often and give them a dose of acid once in a while. They grow like weeds.

Enjoys or suffers cold winters
The Siberians have a separate bed. Our soil is about 6.5 so acid content is fine. Cut Siberian foliage back in Oct. Old foliage can be a mess in the spring.

Great, because I want to plant a few in my long beds as a break in color and type.

Beautiful photo Tom! Thumbs up

I'm fearing I will soon dip into the land of the beardless. I know I'll go crazy once I see one (or both) of my 2 Spurias bloom.

Rob, do you recall those beardless introductions from Ghio I think (?), that were said to grow in shade? There were 2 shown, a deep violet purple and an orchid lavender. When I saw your garden pics with all the azaleas, I envisioned those little shade lovers underneath. Don't think of it as furthering your Iris obsession, just think of it as working in some more colorful landscape plants for extending the bloom season....some just happen to be Irises... Green Grin!

Tectorum and Cristata are shorter and like shade. the cristata would make it look like a little blanket of blue and white under your azaleas.

But your first beardless will be those PCI's......... (fingers crossed).

I don't recall their names Neil. I agree, I would love to add in some irises here and there in the azalea garden. First I need to get a handle on my bearded obsession. *Blush*

I love roses! I used to have many, but now I'm down to only a few. I have too many deer around here to have roses. The deer are currently eating everything off of my camellias and nibbling on other plants here and there. Thumbs down

Okay. You all didn't get my hint earlier. I posted a multiplant photo. Those pics at the bottom of the homepage? I think we should all visit there on occasion because there have been some lovely multi iris shots we should be backing. Paul is a regular there and does amazing shots of all kinds of plants so go give him (and the rest of us) some love. If for no other reason - to make iris multi shots the most popular for the week too. We are giving thumbs for the single shots already. We can take over the rest too. (Okay, this is crazily overblown but..... you get the idea!)

Deer are such a pest, I'm so glad they're not a problem here (dealt with them at my previous home). I see them at the bottom of the hill, but they rarely come up to the yard. A couple of time cattle have gotten out of the pasture, and I've seen them standing right in the middle of a bed!
