My heart goes out to those experiencing real terrible winter conditions.
Here we are experiencing a taste of spring.
Our local community had to cancel the annual winter family fun day,--
because the ice in the rink has all melted.

Here in Anchorage they had to move the start of the Iditarod race to Fairbanks (second time in 43 years) because we have little snow and the rivers and such are just too dangerous. They are dangerous but with the warmer temps the chances of going through the ice are too great. Saw that on a newspaper headline. The last few years they had to bring in snow downtown for the start up just to get them out of town. Not sure if they can still call it a 1000 mile race to Nome.
