My blooms on VIVACIOUS SPIRIT have been rather pastel, probably due to our heat. I just moved the plant because I think it was getting too much shade, and I'll have to see how it does this year now.
Thanks Betty. We know a thing or two about heat in Oklahoma, so point well taken. I may not need another pale pink....Mike: I couldn't tell if it was a Datura or a Moonflower. Clever idea. Will look forward to more...........Maryl
I looked Voila Francois up on the database to see where people live who grow this cultivar. The good news for you is that it is grown in Missouri and Nebraska--both places have cold winters and hot summers. Both states are in the middle of the country in the snow-belt.
The problem is not cold winters, ours are mild. We seldom see much snow. The issue is the lack of warmth in the summer, when we do have a long spell of sunshine there is an amazing difference in the appearance of daylilies with teeth or elaborate edges. Anyway I am looking forward to growing it and will post photos when it blooms.
Hey @kidfishing Ashton and Terry. Thanks for that photo of Vickie's Radiance. Looks rather more purple/pink than then the bright coral/pink I would have expected. Does it's color change?
