Absolutely gorgeous Brad! I have to admit I'm a little envious of your ability to travel to all these beautiful gardens and spend days taking photos.....but I'm really glad you do!!!
Marilyn.. Thanks I was not planning on Oregon last year but after spending March and April watching half my garden rot, needed to see some Bloom and there is no better place then Salem in the spring. I could spend weeks there and see something new everyday it is a fun place to visit with all the different nurseries everywhere truly a plant lovers paradise.
Sherry.. I did not take any full garden pictures at Kieth's or Joe's had the same problem at both stop's I got occupied in there seedling patches and at Joe's the Roses blew me away as you know he has a wonderful collection and they were at Peak when we visited, after losing all of mine over last winter I really enjoyed his and went home with some names of his to try and start all over again. Here are some partial garden pics from Joe's and his roses.
Thanks Brad. I was out at his ranch post bloom season to help with the dig this past year. the roses were still in bloom, and he even had a stunning dahlia that he'd hybridized. I've only been to his house to paw through the boxes of iris he puts out front. do you know when you're coming out yet? Maybe we can plan a little party with some of the other ATP folks out here

Joe's was our first stop on the trip this year and it was Awesome we Love Santa Cruz in April, especially after last winter the scenery is Outstanding driving along the Ocean. I thought this year I would share some of my personal favorite's blooming in each of the gardens when we visited, and then some seedlings from different places I have hopes for.
Joe had a great assortment of plants for sale in his catalog last year a few of these I had seen from previous years but it was a real treat to see all these new varieties from all over up close and personal in his gardens a lot of times the catalog pictures just don't do them justice. My wish list kinda went crazy after seeing all of these I tried to order a lot of them but the newer ones sold out fast so missed quite a few definitely looking forward to his catalog this year and hoping what I missed last year is still in it

Hi Sherry not sure of a date yet will probably wait closer to bloom time to buy tickets until I know he is close to Peak bloom I was a little early last year and missed all of the later blooming plants and seedlings. With our crazy weather all over the country who knows when bloom will be peak but would definitely like to meet the group
(If my memory serves me right) On a normal year, I have a quite a few open in that first week of June, Second week the early ones are done, but later ones are coming on. You are most welcome to come and see them. Any ones guess whether we have a normal year or not. Then you could put your stamp on the ones you want! I ususally have lots of people coming during that time to select their choices. Now I'll have to go to last years thread and see if I'm accurate, as last year was a typical year.
Politicians are like diapers, they need to be changed often, and for the same reason.
Lat year was so weird. I had 'Crimson King' blooming Feb 4th (this year mid January), followed by 'Spring Bliss' March 3rd, the SDB 'Yankee Skipper' March 19th, and 'That's All Folks' on the 22nd.... Everything was early. If we don't get a winter again this year, I have no idea what to expect. I'm wanting to have an open garden, but am having a hard time deciding which weekend... I'm thinking I should plan earlier, rather than later given the weather we've been having.

Thanks you guys glad you liked the pictures I had a lot of fun taking them !!
Mary Ann.. I thought the same thing when I seen it at Joe's What a color.
Tom... I know who's garden to raid if there all sold out again Good luck figuring bloom time it seems like every year it changes it used to be the majority of mine were done by June and the past couple years they have been well into it. I am hoping for mid May this year and some cooler temps during bloom season so they will last and not burn up in the heat.
Sherry.. I hope you have gotten enough rain to get you out of the drought restriction's and I hope your bloom season is a little early this year by early April I will really be looking forward to seeing bloom
Joe had some really Awesome and Unique seedlings to go through we were awestruck looking at all the new colors and patterns that he has been working on and I only got to see a small portion of the earlier ones Hope to change that this year these were the ones that got me excited and looked promising someday. The Ovation Pink flowers he has put out and still working on are special there really is nothing else like them anywhere in that color of pink. I love the one at the bottom left with the pink band it will not need a name tag when blooming
