Tropical Milkweed (Asclepias curassavica)

The bicolor sure looks right, but I thought A.curassavica, did not die back during the winter, and mine died back pretty early, though it did hang in there for a while. Seems there is some concern over it overwintering, and it is suggested it be cut back, but that was not necessary for mine.
The seeds were given to me, and she was also given the seeds. It seems A. curassavica is the only commercially available Asclepias available
so I guess it very well good be.

Yes, i agree Asclepias curassavica... i've been growing it for 7 years. There are quite a few different species available now that butterfly gardening has become so popular, including tuberosa which has a different flower than the curassavica pictured. The Milkweeds are host plants for the Monarch Butterfly.

That kind of answers the question I sent you in email. Did it come back up in the spring, or was that the first time and you don't know yet?

Wish I'd brought some seeds of A. incarnata & syriacus with me from OH.
