Plant Pole -- 8 Hanging Plants in Less Than 2 sq. ft. of Greenhouse Space

By Ecscuba
February 9, 2015

Make this plant pole for under $20 in about an hour. It uses less than 2 feet of floor space in your greenhouse. It holds small to medium-sized pots (herbs, seedlings, etc.). Great for on the patio too. As an added bonus, a light can be hung at the top, which will be handy when you absolutely must go to the greenhouse after dark :) Feeling really creative? Paint and decorate the pole.

I think I will try this idea for outdoors and sink the bucket into a larger tub. That way I can fill the tub with soil and plant it with low growing plants and then put small buckets on this plant pole and fill with hanging succulents. I will paint the pole a flat brown to emulate rusty metal and put small galvanized buckets on it. By sinking it into a large galvanized tub I think it will be very eye catching. Thank you for sharing this fine idea, Carol. Smiles

AND you could put one of those solar lights, the kind that go on a stake, in the top. Hmmm, gotta go check my supply of PVC.

Lots of great ideas for modifications ! Love them all. Don't forget to put something over the bent up ends to prevent sticking yourself in the eye -- you could even make the metal hanger a bit wider and then bend the end under (just for safety).
