Hampton Court Palace Flower Show (Part 2)

By NEILMUIR1
July 19, 2011

Hampton Court Palace is in Surrey, which is to the west of London and lies on the side of the River Thames. The first Flower Show was held here in 1990 but it was not until 1993 that it became a Royal Horticultural Society Show. By concentrating on environmental issues, growing your own, and cookery, it was different from the Chelsea Flower Show. It also allowed people to test new tools and to buy plants, neither of which is allowed at the Chelsea Show until the last day. Please join me as I venture through the Surrey mud to see what I can find.

Dear Cherie, I am glad you enjoyed it after all the bad luck you have been through lately now something to cheer you up! The plant with the red stems and blue flowers is a Brazilian jungle plant and was not labelled.
It looks like something Ed would eat as he like chili and hot things. Rolling on the floor laughing
I do not know when Part 3 will be out or Part 4!
You just be careful as I have missed you a lot!

Dear Cherie, I can't afford to go twice and it is a long way from me! I walked 31,2 miles in the rain that day, with some heavy camera equipment as well as food and beer supplies!
Just so you can sit drinking coffee and see it on your computer. Rolling on the floor laughing
I do it because I love plants and Love making people Happy, that is what motivates me.
Even to come home and Sarah would not let me in the house until she hosed me down with cold water as I was covered in mud! Grumbling
Never mind eh!

Dear Lynn, thank you for your comments and I am sure some of you readers may like this Article?
The Acer (maple) you refer to is Acer palmatum var. dissectum: 'Garnet' but most people call it Acer palmatum 'Garnet.' Although there is a difference between a dissectum and a straight palmatum. In that one has dissected leaves and one has palm of a human hand like leaves. i.e, Five lobes.

Dear Lynn, you must have heard of writers block, well I have photos block! Rolling on the floor laughing At 60 Pictures per Article and sometimes a few more, so far that is 120+ now with part 3 nearly finish that is 180 all from memory of the day.
Then part 4 which will be 240+ that is a lot to sort edit, remember and put on! So I am pleased when I get to part 3 as there will just be one left!
When that is finished it is time to go and get some more and start again.
